The highlight of the journey is the northern Serengeti, where—depending on the season—you may witness the dramatic Mara River crossings, one of the most iconic wildlife events on Earth.

Itinerary Day By Day

  • Arrival Date

    Upon your arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, you’ll be greeted by your guide and transferred to your accommodation in Arusha or Moshi. Take the rest of the day to relax, settle in, and prepare for your upcoming adventure in Tanzania. Your journey into the heart of this incredible destination is about to begin!

  • Day 1: Tarangire National Park

    Your adventure begins with a morning departure from Arusha, heading southwest to Tarangire National Park. The drive itself offers glimpses of local life and beautiful landscapes before entering the park, known for its massive baobab trees and large elephant herds. A full-day game drive introduces you to Tanzania’s wildlife, with excellent chances of spotting elephants, lions, giraffes, zebras, and a variety of antelope species. The Tarangire River acts as a magnet for wildlife, especially during the dry season, making sightings frequent and rewarding. As the day winds down, you head to your lodge where you can relax and enjoy your first night on safari.

  • Day 2: Tarangire to Serengeti National Park – Journey to the Endless Plains

    After breakfast, depart Tarangire and begin your journey toward the legendary Serengeti National Park. The drive is scenic and diverse, passing through local villages and highland landscapes. As you enter the Serengeti, the scenery opens into vast plains stretching as far as the eye can see. Wildlife viewing begins immediately, with opportunities to spot predators and grazing herds along the way. Arrive in the central Serengeti area (Seronera), known for its rich concentration of wildlife. Enjoy an afternoon game drive before heading to your camp or lodge for dinner and overnight.

  • Day 3: Central Serengeti to Northern Serengeti – Following the Migration

    The day starts with an early morning game drive in central Serengeti National Park, when predators are most active. This area is famous for lions, cheetahs, and leopards, often seen hunting or resting in the golden grasslands. Later, you journey north toward the Mara River region, following the path of the Great Migration. The drive itself is a game drive, with wildlife encounters along the way. As you approach northern Serengeti, the landscape becomes more remote and less crowded, offering a more exclusive safari experience. Arrive at your camp in time to relax and enjoy the peaceful surroundings.

  • Day 4: Full Day in Northern Serengeti – Mara River Crossing Experience

    Today is dedicated to exploring the northern Serengeti National Park near the Mara River. This is the highlight of your safari and one of the best places in Africa to witness the Great Migration. You may spend time near the riverbanks waiting for herds of wildebeest and zebras to gather and attempt the dramatic crossing. These moments are unpredictable and thrilling, often involving crocodiles and intense predator activity. Even outside the crossings, the area offers excellent wildlife viewing, including elephants, giraffes, and big cats. A full day here maximizes your chances of experiencing this incredible natural event.

  • Day 5: Northern Serengeti to Central Serengeti – Through the Wild Plains

    After breakfast, enjoy a final morning game drive in northern Serengeti before heading back toward the central plains. This journey offers continuous wildlife viewing, as you pass through different habitats filled with animals. Keep an eye out for predators, large herds, and diverse birdlife along the way. Arrive in central Serengeti for an evening at your lodge or camp, reflecting on the unforgettable experiences of the past days.

  • Day 6: Serengeti to Ngorongoro (Karatu) – From Plains to Highlands

    After a relaxed breakfast in the heart of Serengeti National Park, you enjoy a final morning game drive across the vast plains, taking in the last sightings of wildlife as the golden savannah slowly fades behind you. This is a great opportunity to spot predators on the move or herds grazing in the early light. You then begin your journey toward the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, with a picnic lunch enjoyed along the way. As you travel, the landscape gradually transforms—from endless open plains to rolling green hills and cooler highland air. Arriving in Karatu in the afternoon, you settle into your lodge surrounded by lush scenery and farmland. The peaceful atmosphere offers the perfect contrast to the wild Serengeti and a chance to relax after several exciting days on safari. The evening is at leisure—enjoy a warm dinner, take in the fresh highland air, and prepare for the incredible experience awaiting you at the Ngorongoro Crater the following day. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

  • Day 7: Ngorongoro Crater & Lake Manyara – Grand Finale

    Start early and descend into the breathtaking Ngorongoro Crater, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of Africa’s most remarkable wildlife destinations. The crater floor is home to an incredible concentration of animals, including lions, elephants, buffalo, zebras, and, with luck, the rare black rhino. The enclosed ecosystem allows for exceptional wildlife viewing in a relatively short time. After your crater tour, continue to Lake Manyara National Park for a short game drive. This scenic park is known for its tree-climbing lions, lush forests, and flamingo-filled lake. Later in the afternoon, return to Arusha for overnight or transfer to the airport. (Departure flights should be scheduled from 5:00 PM onwards.)
