Upon your arrival at Julius Nyerere International Airport, you’ll be greeted by your guide and transferred to your accommodation in Dar es salaam. Take the rest of the day to relax, settle in, and prepare for your upcoming adventure in Tanzania. Your journey into the heart of this incredible destination is about to begin!

Your adventure begins with a scenic drive from Moshi to Tarangire National Park, a renowned haven for wildlife. The park is famous for its giant baobab trees and large herds of elephants. After checking in to your lodge, you’ll embark on an afternoon game drive where you may spot not only elephants but also lions, giraffes, and a variety of bird species. Tarangire’s landscapes are diverse, ranging from savannah to wetlands, making it an exciting start to your safari. In the evening, return to your lodge for a relaxed dinner, enjoying the sounds of the African wilderness.

You will journey to the Ngorongoro Crater, a UNESCO World Heritage site and one of the most spectacular wildlife destinations on earth. After descending into the crater, you’ll spend the day exploring its rich ecosystems, which support an incredible density of wildlife, including the “Big Five”—lions, elephants, buffaloes, leopards, and rhinos. The crater floor is also home to hippos, wildebeests, and colorful flamingos in the lake. A picnic lunch in the heart of the crater allows you to take in the breathtaking surroundings, and in the afternoon, you’ll head back up to the crater rim for panoramic views. Afterward, return to your lodge near Ngorongoro for dinner and rest.

Your safari continues with a visit to Lake Manyara National Park, a gem located at the base of the Great Rift Valley. Known for its tree-climbing lions, the park also boasts a rich variety of wildlife, including large herds of elephants, baboons, and an abundance of birdlife, such as flamingos and pelicans that congregate along the lake. The park’s unique mix of habitats, from dense forests to open grasslands, provides excellent opportunities for wildlife viewing. After a picnic lunch within the park, you may choose to visit the nearby village of Mto wa Mbu, where you can experience local culture and shop for handmade crafts. In the evening, you’ll head back to your lodge or a nearby town for a final dinner, reflecting on your unforgettable safari experience.

This is the day to either head home or continue your adventure. You can depart Tanzania, or if you’d like, you can travel to Zanzibar for a relaxing beach holiday or explore another destination of your choice.
