You don't need to be an athlete, but good cardiovascular fitness helps. We recommend training 2–3 months before your climb with hiking, walking, and cardio exercises. Most people who maintain a reasonable level of fitness can reach the summit.

The best climbing seasons are January–March and June–October. January–March offers quieter trails and possible snow at the summit. June–October is the dry season with clearer skies and warmer conditions. We climb year-round.

Most routes take 5–9 days. We recommend longer itineraries (7–9 days) for better acclimatization and higher summit success rates. The Lemosho and Northern Circuit routes offer the best acclimatization profiles.

Our packages include park fees, camping equipment, meals on the mountain, experienced guides, porters, cook, transfers from Moshi/Arusha, and accommodation before and after the climb. Equipment and detailed packing lists are provided.

Bring neutral-colored clothing (khaki, olive, brown), a warm layer for early morning game drives, sun protection, comfortable walking shoes, binoculars, and a good camera. We provide a detailed packing list upon booking.

Most travelers need a Tanzania Tourist Visa (USD 50 for most nationalities, USD 100 for U.S. citizens). You can apply online via the Tanzania Immigration website or obtain one on arrival at Julius Nyerere International Airport (JRO). Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months.

Absolutely! Many of our travelers combine a Kilimanjaro climb with a Tanzania safari. We can arrange a seamless itinerary that takes you from the mountain to the Serengeti, Ngorongoro Crater, or other wildlife destinations. Contact us for a custom combination package.
