Day by Day

Arrival Date

Upon your arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, you’ll be greeted by your guide and transferred to your accommodation in Arusha or Moshi. Take the rest of the day to relax, settle in, and prepare for your upcoming adventure in Tanzania. Your journey into the heart of this incredible destination is about to begin!

Your safari adventure begins with an early departure from Moshi, heading towards Lake Manyara National Park. After a scenic drive, you will arrive at the park in time for a thrilling game drive. The park is renowned for its diverse landscapes, from lush forested areas to the sparkling, alkaline shores of Lake Manyara. Keep your eyes peeled for flamingos along the lake, as well as the famous tree-climbing lions, and other wildlife such as elephants and giraffes. After a full day of exploration, you will settle in for an overnight stay at a lodge or campsite near the park.

After breakfast, you’ll drive through the beautiful Ngorongoro Conservation Area, where you’ll have the opportunity to stop at the Ngorongoro Crater viewpoint, offering stunning panoramic views of the caldera. Continue your journey towards Serengeti National Park, one of the world’s most renowned wildlife destinations. Arriving in the afternoon, you’ll enjoy an exciting game drive in the vast savanna landscape, home to an abundance of wildlife, including big cats and herds of wildebeest. You’ll then head to your accommodation for the night in Serengeti.

Today is dedicated entirely to exploring the Serengeti. You’ll rise early for a morning game drive when wildlife is most active. The Serengeti is famous for its annual Great Migration, so depending on the time of year, you may witness the migration of thousands of wildebeest and zebras across the plains. You’ll also have the chance to observe predators like lions, cheetahs, and leopards, as well as other animals like elephants, giraffes, and zebras. After a full day of wildlife encounters, you’ll return to your lodge or camp for an overnight stay.

On your fourth day, you will enjoy an early morning game drive in Serengeti before heading back towards the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Along the way, take in the stunning views and beautiful landscapes of the Tanzanian Highlands. After a relaxing lunch, you will arrive in the Ngorongoro area and have the evening free to unwind at your lodge or camp. You may also enjoy the tranquil surroundings, preparing for your visit to the Ngorongoro Crater the following day.

Today, you’ll descend into the Ngorongoro Crater, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the most extraordinary places in Africa. This collapsed volcanic caldera is home to a wide variety of wildlife, including the endangered black rhino, as well as buffaloes, lions, elephants, and zebras. You’ll spend the day exploring the crater floor, with a picnic lunch in the middle of the day. Afterward, continue your game drive before heading back to your lodge or camp for an overnight stay at Karatu area.

On Day 6, you’ll immerse yourself in one of Tanzania’s most unique cultural experiences with a visit to the Hadzabe Tribe, a community of traditional hunter-gatherers who have lived in this remote area for centuries. After breakfast, you’ll travel to the Lake Eyasi region, where the Hadzabe people reside. Known for their fascinating way of life, the Hadzabe are one of the last remaining tribes in Africa that still practice hunting with traditional bows and arrows, as well as foraging for wild fruits, roots, and tubers.

Upon arrival, you’ll meet the Hadzabe villagers and have the rare opportunity to interact with them. You may watch as they demonstrate their impressive hunting skills or even participate in a hunting or foraging activity if you’re interested. The Hadzabe are incredibly welcoming and open about sharing their knowledge of the natural world, so you’ll learn about the plants and animals they rely on for survival and the customs that have sustained their way of life for generations.

In addition to their hunting and gathering, you’ll also observe their fascinating lifestyle, including their simple but effective shelters made from natural materials and their unique language, which includes click sounds. The Hadzabe have lived in harmony with the land for centuries, and their deep connection to nature provides a profound perspective on sustainable living.

After your time with the Hadzabe, you’ll return to Karatu, a charming town located near the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Here, you’ll spend the evening at a comfortable lodge or camp, reflecting on the day’s enriching experience. You may choose to relax and enjoy the peaceful surroundings or take in a sunset over the beautiful landscapes of the Ngorongoro Highlands.

This day offers a rare chance to engage with one of the world’s most traditional and authentic tribes, providing a rich cultural experience that adds depth to your Tanzanian safari adventure.

On your final day, you’ll depart for Tarangire National Park, a fantastic destination for wildlife lovers. Known for its massive herds of elephants and iconic baobab trees, Tarangire offers a unique safari experience. During your game drive, you’ll have the chance to spot elephants, lions, zebras, giraffes, and a wide range of bird species. After a fulfilling day in the park, you will head back to Moshi or Arusha, bringing an end to your unforgettable safari adventure.

This is the day to either head home or continue your adventure. You can depart Tanzania, or if you’d like, you can travel to Zanzibar for a relaxing beach holiday or explore another destination of your choice.
