Gombe Stream National Park is a small but historically significant park on the shores of Lake Tanganyika. Made famous by Dr. Jane Goodalls groundbreaking chimpanzee research starting in 1960, Gombe offers intimate chimpanzee trekking experiences in a pristine forest environment. The park is home to approximately 100 chimpanzees, as well as other primates, birds, and diverse wildlife. Access is by boat from Kigoma town.
